Chiong Song Ning graduated from the National University of Singapore (“NUS”) with Bachelor’s degrees (Honours) in Electrical Engineering and Law. His technical background and legal training have equipped him with a keen appreciation of the interplay between law, engineering, technology, and Intellectual Property (“IP”).
Prior to joining Mirandah Law, Song Ning practised law at another boutique IP law firm and played an instrumental role in setting up and leading the patents practice group of that firm. He has also taught the sciences at a tertiary institution, managed wireless technology projects at the defence ministry, conducted research on IP regulations at the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, and contributed to research projects at NUS (a book on contract drafting, and a comparative analysis of the patent legislations of over 30 Asian countries).
Song Ning’s legal expertise includes advising clients on the prosecution, management, exploitation, and enforcement of their IP portfolios (both locally and globally). His technical expertise includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the fields of software, information technology, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. At Mirandah Law, Song Ning specializes in corporate and commercial transactions as well as civil and IP litigation.
